Goa Head Coach Alfred Fernandes has expressed satisfaction with his team’s preparations ahead of the 30th Senior Women’s National Football Championship for the Rajmata Jijabai Trophy 2025-26, Group H, to be held in Bhavnagar, Gujarat.

Speaking to The Goan Everyday, Fernandes described the mood in the camp as “very good and positive,” emphasizing the importance of continuity and familiarity within the squad.

“Overall, our preparation and performance in the lead-up matches have been excellent,” he stated.

Looking ahead to their opening fixture against Maharashtra, Fernandes shared his optimism: “We are ready for the season to begin. We have high ambitions and are well-prepared for the opening match.”

He also acknowledged the evolving nature of the competition this season, noting that while the challenges are significant, the players are mentally prepared.

“We are aware of the challenges, but the players have the belief and determination to overcome them,” he added.

Fernandes credited the technical staff for designing a structured and thoughtful preparation program.

“I hope we play a good match,” he said. “The camp is buzzing with excitement and confidence. We are in high spirits and will do everything in our power to get the points.”

Despite the positive atmosphere, Fernandes stressed the importance of learning from past experiences.

“We are looking for a positive result. We must learn from past mistakes and ensure we don’t repeat them.”
