Defending champions Guardian Angel Sports Club, Curchorem, registered a commanding 6–1 victory over Chandor Club to storm into the semifinals of the 18th London Trophy Inter-Village Football Tournament 2026, organised by Goa Velha Sports Club and sponsored by the villagers of Goa Velha based in the United Kingdom.

Guardian Angel SC made a flying start when Seldon Fernandes opened the scoring as early as the 3rd minute. His attempt slipped through the hands of the Chandor goalkeeper and rolled into the net to give his side a 1–0 lead. Fernandes doubled the advantage just three minutes later, tapping into an empty net after Adriano Gomes’ initial shot was parried into play by Chandor goalkeeper Rio Rebello.

Chandor Club suffered a major setback in the 20th minute when Moises D’Sa was shown a red card by match referee Yeshwant Parab, reducing his team to ten men. The match was briefly halted after the player allegedly assaulted the referee following the decision. Local organisers intervened and escorted the player off the field. Guardian Angel SC led 2–0 at halftime.

After the break, Guardian Angel SC continued their dominance. Alton Vaz netted the third goal in the 38th minute, while Granville Fernandes made it 4–0 in the 40th minute. Seldon Fernandes then completed his hat-trick in the 52nd minute to extend the lead to 5–0. Substitute Regan Costa added the sixth goal to seal the rout.

Chandor Club managed a consolation goal through Hayden Fijardo in the 56th minute, ending the match 6–1 in favour of the defending champions.

During the match, Granville Fernandes of Guardian Angel SC was cautioned for a reckless tackle, while Moises D’Sa of Chandor Club was sent off for dissent after initially being booked for a reckless challenge.

Seldon Fernandes was adjudged Man of the Match for his outstanding hat-trick performance. The award was presented by Alex Gonsalves, Life Member of Goa Velha Sports Club based in the United Kingdom, and sponsored by Joshua and Philbert Lopes.
