Guirdolim Sports Club edged out Parish Youth Nuvem 8-7 in a dramatic tie-breaker after the teams were locked at 3-3 at the end of regulation time in a pulsating contest at the Anil Kamat Memorial Tournament organized by Enfermos Sports Club.
The match got off to a fiery start as Guirdolim's Moies D’sa opened the scoring in the 4th minute with a stunning free kick. Parish Youth Nuvem nearly responded immediately, but Meislen Barreto missed a clear chance in the 8th minute. Just a minute later, Jonas Colaco found the equalizer for Parish Youth Nuvem with a well-taken goal.
Both sides continued to push forward with intensity. In the 17th minute, Guirdolim’s Severas D’Costa unleashed a powerful shot, but the Parish Youth goalkeeper made a crucial save. Guirdolim regained the lead in the 38th minute through Ashwell Plexoto’s fine finish, only for Meislen Barreto to level the scores again in the 40th minute.
Joaquim Carvalho restored Guirdolim’s advantage just before halftime, netting in the 44th minute to make it 3-2. However, Parish Youth Nuvem refused to back down, and Shenoy Colaco slotted home the equalizer in the 50th minute to set up a tense finish.
With neither side able to break the deadlock in the closing stages, the match went to penalties. Guirdolim SC held their nerve, converting all five of their spot kicks through Mario Fernandes, Joaquim Carvalho, Ashwell Plexoto, Akran Yadwad, and Moies D’sa. Parish Youth Nuvem managed to convert three through Alvito Dias, Jonas Colaco, and Shenoy Colaco, but it wasn’t enough as Guirdolim clinched a thrilling 8-7 victory in the shootout.
