VALPOI
Shri Hanuman Vidyalaya, Valpoi, won the under-14 boys cricket tournament organised by Department of Sports and Youth Affairs at the school ground here. They defeated Government High School, Morle-Sattari.
In the final, Shri Hanuman Vidyalaya scored 76 runs. Devraj Gaonkar (25) and Sarvesh Gaonkar (12) batted well. Tejas Gawas took 2 wickets in 2 runs. In reply, the Morle school team was able to score only 46 runs in 15 overs.
Shri Hanuman Vidyalaya management congratulated the team for their outstanding performance. Speaking to The Goan, headmistress Minal Kanekar said that the Vidyalaya's top-place finish was due to the continuous efforts by our boys under the guidance of sports teacher Uday Kumar Patil and Pandurang Gaonkar.
