Pax of Nagoa U-18 football selection today
PANAJI: Pax of Nagoa Sports Club will hold its football team selection for their Under-18 age group to play in the football league conducted by the Goa Football Association.The players who would like to take part have been requested to report to Anzil Godinho at the Nagoa Panchayat grounds on Saturday, January 30 at 4 pm along with their birth certificates and two photographs. The full football playing kit would be provided to those who are selected.

JSKA Goa bag 29 medals
PANAJI: The Japan Shotokan Karate Association (JSKA) International Open karate championship was held recently at Palakkad, Kerala. The participating teams included Sri Lanka, Maldives, Oman, Qatar, UAE, Kuwait and JSKA Goa. JSKA Goa won 9 gold, 7 silver and 13 bronze medals, and took the runners-up trophy in the Overall Championship. Mahila Nutan storm into semis
MARGAO: The 4th wicket 86-run stand between Sanath Prabhudesai (53 runs, 8x4) and Mohit Redkar (68 runs, 12x4) was instrumental in leading Mahila Nutan High School, Margao to a facile 131-run win against Government High School, Vidyanagar to enter the semis of the Salcete Taluka U-17 inter school cricket tournament organized by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs at SAG Sports Complex, Fatorda on Thursday. Batting first, Mahila Nutan HS scored 196 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs. For Vidyanagar School, Manthan and Dinesh took 3 wickets each conceding 28 and 50 runs respectively. In reply, Vidyanagar's innings folded for just 65 runs. Pundalik 12, Yogesh 11 and Ganesh 10 were the batsmen to reach double digit scores. For Mahila Nutan HS, Prashant Zamuni took a 4-wicket haul while Manchit Naik and Shashikant Parab bagged 2 wickets each. PANAJI: A superb all-round performance by Akshay Darekar (80 runs and 5/21) and a half century by Sagar Sawant (70 runs) helped Karimabad Cricket Club, Panjim to register a convincing 113 run- win over Shirgao Sports Club to emerge champs of the ‘A’ division North Zone cricket tournament of Goa Cricket Association at Porvorim Cricket Academy ground, on Thursday. With this win, Karimabad CC have qualified for the State final and will play South Zone ‘A’ division cricket winners. Batting first, Karimabad CC piled up a huge total of 262 for 9 in 42 overs. For Sharda Mandir HS, Joy Kapadia was the wrecker-in-chief scalping 4 sticks while giving away only 16 runs. In reply, Sharada Mandir High School easily knocked off the required runs in 17.4 overs while losing two wickets in the process. For Sharada Mandir, Harsh Sanglekar scored 19 runs. For Acdil HS, Saket Ranjan was the most successful bowler claiming 2 wickets for 12 runs.
