India skipper MS Dhoni has promised there will be no experimentation or let up from his side in Sunday's Twenty20 dead rubber.
The tourists took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series on Friday night, winning by 27 runs at the MCG. Yuvraj Singh and Hardik Pandya are yet to bat in the series but Dhoni suggested it was unlikely the pair will be promoted up the order at the SCG.
"You can't experiment," Dhoni said. "You want to take the best step forward. Yes we want to see what Yuvraj brings with his batting, what Hardik can do... It's a difficult one.
"But Virat is batting very, very well at No 3 and if the partnership goes on until the 15th or 16th over then it's my time to come in and play the big shots."
India named an unchanged XI on Friday, having recorded a 37-run victory at Adelaide Oval in the Australia Day series opener. There is every chance they could use the same 11 players on Sunday, with selectors having seemingly already settled on their best side for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
It's in sharp contrast to the approach of Australia, who named a 17-man squad for the series and made six changes after the game in Adelaide.
"Frankly that's none of my business. I don't know their schedule, how bad their schedule was before they played us," Dhoni said. "You decide what's best for your team."
Dhoni was thrilled with the form of his batsmen, especially Virat Kohli who is shooting for a third straight man-of-the-match award. "The batsmen have done a very good job, that's where experience comes into it," Dhoni said. "They've been here before, they've played here before.
"Very happy with the batting effort and the bowlers still need to improve."
