Riding on a fine triple strike by striker Samson Fernandes, Ambelim Sports Club trounced Pax of Nagoa Sports Club 6-0 to storm into the quarterfinals of All Legend Catao Fernandes memorial inter village football tournament organized by Union of Chinchinim Villagers at Church ground, Chinchinim on Sunday.
Ambelim opened the account in the seventh minute when striker Samson Fernandes bulged the net after receiving a through pass from Tiburcio Fernandes. Ambelim increased their tally in the 12th minute when Tiburcio Fernandes burst inside the flank and tapped home a welll measured cross from Samson Fernandes. Two minutes later, Samson Fernandes struck his second off a pass from Tiburcio Fernandes. In the 25th minute Samson Fernandes completed his hat-trick when he punished the rival goalkeeper with neat finish.
The second half did not bring any relief to Pax of Nagoa as Ambelim attacked from both the flanks. Blasco Fernandes added to the tally in the 47th minute and Samson Fernandes notched his fourth goal at the stroke of lemon break.

Title aspirants Curtorim Gymkhana came from behind to defeat Mandopa Sporting Club 6-4 via tiebreaker to march into the final of All Goa St Anthony's Festival Cup inter village football tournament organized by St Anthony's Sports Club, Assolda at Panchayat ground, Assolda on Sunday. Curtorim Gymkhana were trailing 0-1 at half time.
