Kartik Iyer got off to a flying start by beating Nikhil Jadhav 3-0 in a quarter final match and then in the semifinal he beat Rutuj Sonawane 11-7,11-13,11-8,13-11 to enter the finals of Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias at Mirmar on Friday.
In the second the semi-finals, Wesley beat Nagesh Verenkar 3-0 to make it to the finals 11-2,11-9,11-3.
In a recap of the previous matches and categories, Nagesh Verenkar and Anushman Agarwal have reached the finals of the cadet boys while Sneha Mesta and Najida Sheikh have reached the finals of the cadet girls category. Tanisi Kirtani has reached the finals of the sub junior girls category and will face Prutha Parrikar in the finals. In the junior girls category again Tanisi Kirtani and Prutha Parrikar will battle it out in the finals. While in the ladies finals, Tanisi Kirtani will take on Prutha Parrikar for the third time.
In the Sub-junior boys category, Nagesh Verenkar will meet Shantesh Mapsekar in the finals to be played on June 12. Day five of the championship will see the men in action. Matches are scheduled between 4pm and 10pm.
