Kaykee Youth Club, Dongorim Majorda defeated Apollo Football Academy Panaji 3-1 to win the 'Friendship Cup 21' tournament played at Kings Turf, Verna.
Four teams -- Kaykee Youth Club, Apollo Football Academy, Apostle Boys Chinchinim and Woody Academy, San Jose de Areal -- took part in the tournament which was played in a round-robin league system.
In the league matches, Apollo FA topped the table with 9 points while Kaykee YC won 2 matches and lost 1 match. In the finals, Kaykee Youth Club and Apollo FA produced a thrilling match. Kaykee scored the first goal in the very third minute with a solo effort by Warren Colaco. Edan scored the second and third goals during the second half to make the issue safe, but Gavin Jr scored for Apollo FA in the closing stages of the game.
The tournament was organised by Apollo Football Academy under the guidance of Gavin Araujo and overseen by Keegan A W Fernandes. The tournament was a part of the U-13 grassroots development programme that was co-sponsored by Rekha and Mario Dsilva.
At the prize distribution function, Mario Dsilva gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up.
