Dempo Cricket Club down Panjim Gymkhana

The second day ofof Bandodkar League T20 Cricket Tournament witnessed low-scoring matches with Margao Cricket Club prevailing over Chowgule SC by 4 wickets while Dempo Cricket Club defeated Panjim Gymkhana by 5 wickets.
With these results, Chowgule and Panjim Gymkhana exit the competition at the group stage itself after two consecutive losses for each team. It also meant that the knock-out stage lineup is decided with Geno SC, Salgaocar CC, MCC and Dempo CC to be involved, but the semi-final matchups will only be confirmed at the end of final group games on Friday.
In Wednesday's action, the spin bowlers dominated the proceedings in the first match in particular where Chowgule Sports Club were bowled out for 69 runs in 15.3 overs after being put into bat. MCC spin duo of Anuj Yadav, who was named Player of the Match, and Rudresh Sharma took 3 wickets each. In reply, MCC made a bit of heavy weather of the chase as Chowgule captain and left-arm spinner Darshan Misal picked 4 wickets to cause a scare in the rivals camp, before MCC got to victory target in 8.5 overs as Deepraj Gaonkar (14 not out) provided the finishing touch.
In the second match of the day, Dempo all-rounder Abhinav Tej Rana starred with the bat and ball. His knock of 62 runs in 31 balls (5x4, 4x6) and the 3rd wicket partnership of 93 runs with Aman Dhooper (31); formed the spine of the successful chase. Earlier put into bat, Panjim Gymkhana posted 142/8 with Vikas Dessai being the top-scorer with 47 runs.
