Michon Warriors beat Zico Boys 2-1 to lift 2nd All Goa Open tournament organised by Young Boys of Sirvodem at Sirvodem Ground. The teams were tied 1-1 at half time.
Zico Boys rocked the rival citadel when Sidhu slotted past the rival goalkeeper with a snap shot. Stung by the setback, Michon Warriors went into attacking mode through Thapa.
In the second session, Michon Warriors continued their hunt for goals and fired a couple of pot shots against the rival citadel. Their efforts bore the fruit when Thapa’s fierce freekick eluded both the human wall and the goalkeeper late in the second half to find the net, 2-1.
Zico Boys went all out for a leveller but Michon Warriors’ defence soaked the pressure to protect the slender lead. Michon Warriors were richer by Rs 60,000 while Zico Boys collected Rs 40,000.

Ex-Salgaocar player Mickdom Rebello (Micky) was the chief guest while the Sirvodem ward councillor Mahesh Amonkar was the guest of honour at the prize presentation function of the 16-team tournament. Rumaldo D'Silva attended the function as a special invitee.
