Hosts Goa scored a consolation 3-1 victory over Chandigarh in their final Group B match of the National Games women’s football competition at Tilak Maidan, Vasco on Wednesday.
Having bowed out of the tournament after losing both their previous two matches, Goa salvaged their pride with the victory. Goa led 3-0 at the break, the goal scorers being Sushmita Jadhav, Karishma Shirvoikar and Remediana Noronha. Vedika Gulia scored the lone consolation goal for Chandigarh in the second half.
