NDRF conducts mock drill at Nehru Stadium

In preparation to the FIFA under-17 World Cup which is just over a month away, the National Disaster Rescue Force (NDRF) conducted a mock drill at Nehru stadium, Fatorda on Thursday morning.

With South Goa Collector and Divisional Magistrate Anjali Sehrawat present, the team which comprised of various government agencies like medical services, bomb disposal squad, PWD, Police and other agencies examined the preparedness of the venue in the run-up to the marquee tournament. A steward training programme for volunteers, who will be in charge of crowd control, has also been conducted. Sports Authority of Goa officials were seen busy overseeing the activities underway at the stadium as the venue is gearing up to host the mega event. The World Cup will be held across six Indian cities from October 6 to 28.
Meanwhile, the box office sales were also thrown open next to SAG Swimming Pool, on Thursday. However, there seemed few buyers on the first day from 10 am to 11am as only 17 tickets were sold. The stall is providing tickets for all the group matches held at the Nehru Stadium.
