Goa Cricket Association (GCA) general secretary Vinod Phadke has been named as manager of the India team for the India-South Africa series starting October 2. Phadke will be the team manager for the three T-20s and five One-day matches.India play South Africa in the first T20 on October 2 in Dharmashala.
Phadke started his career as a manager of Indian team in 2006. He was also the manager of the U-19 team when Virat Kohli and Ishant Sharma were part of the squad.
Phadke was also the manager when India U-19 toured Down Under for the quadrangular series in 2013. As U-19 manager he won the world cup. He also travelled to New Zealand in 2013 as a BCCI co-ordinator. Having been involved with cricket in India for long, Vinod Phadke enjoys excellent relations with individuals who have been and are at the helm of BCCI.
