Parra Verla Canca Association played out a 2-2 draw versus Saligao Sports Club at Duler Stadium in the GFA Second Division League (Bardez), on Wednesday.
In the very first minute, Saligao took the lead through Craig Menezes who scored taking advantage of a misunderstanding between the goalkeeper and defender Vinod Gadekar. Parra tried hard for the equaliser but Atish, Edwin, Lesten all missed out on simple chances. Parra thereafter dominated but just could not score.
Down by a goal at the breather, Parra found the equaliser shortly after resumption as Charles Cardoz converted a penalty which was given after Videsh Satardekar brought down Parra’s Lesten Martins. Barely nine minutes later, Parra forged ahead with Charles Cardoz striking again through a penalty which was awarded when Ajit Diwadkar fouled against Parra forward Lesten Martins.
Saligao custodian Augustine D’Mello then effected spectacular saves off Edwin Viegas and Saish Palyekar. As the clock was ticking into the closing stages of the game, Abhijit Bandekar equalised for the Saligao side as he directed a Bebiano Fernandes cross into the goal with a powerful header. With no winner coming, the game ended in a 2-2 stalemate.
