Regina Mundi High school Chicalim emerged champions in the state level Subroto Mukherjee football tournament organised by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs (DYSA) at Santacruz football ground and earned a ticket to participate in the Subroto Mukherjee International U-15 Tournament in Bangaluru.
They defeated Our Lady of Mount Carmel High School Arambol.
Dr Ajay Gaude Director of DSYA and Deputy Director Dr Vivek Pawar, APEO Rohidas Ghadi gave away the trophy and medal to the winning School also present ZSO Sanjay Shirodkar ZSO Nikesh Panjikar and state sports organiser Anant Sawal.
At the end of the regular period of play the team were locked one-all.
It was Norbert Rodrigues who gave the lead to Arambol side in the first half and immediately within next 12 minutes Regina Mundi's Mathias Rodrigues gave the equaliser.
In tie-breaker Sairaj Patil, Shane Colaco, Rishon Sebastian and Mathias Rodrigues were on target for Chicalim side while only Gadiel Fernandes, Paulwin Feenandes and Zion D'mello could score for Arambol school with the score line reading 5-4.
