An astonishing amount close to Rs.24 lakhs is due from Sports Authority of Goa (SAG) to Goans Hockey, the parent body controlling the hockey affairs in the state.
The amount claimed by Goans Hockey is for participation in the various national level championships and also organizing state level championships spread over a period of 22 months and does not include the National Games 2023 pending dues for the diet camp, residential camp and equipment.
“This is to request you to please note that our dues are pending from 2023 till 2024 and we have contributed to the payment of tickets for the teams to depute them for the Hockey India Nationals held around the Country. Kindly, please help us to get the funds,” says a letter from Goans Hokey which has been signed by its General Secretary Farrel Furtado e Gracias.
The total amount of dues the Goans Hockey claim which are due to them is Rs.23,99,935/-.
For the current year till October, Goans Hockey have laid a claim of Rs.12,51,200 from SAG while for the 2023 the association say Rs. 11,48,735 is due to them.
An amount of Rs. 1,51,200 has also mentioned as due but it was not clear the dues are from which year and under which head as no details have been mentioned.
