Salgaocar FC scored an easy 4-0 win over Guardian Angel Sports Club at Duler on Monday to go second in the standings of the Goa Professional League. Aslon Olievera gave the Greens lead in the first session, and scored again in the second half, where Salgaocar netted two more times through Gilbert Oliveira and Martin Scott. The fixture was originally scheduled as a round two tie last month but was postponed due to a statewide bandh. Salgaocar enjoyed the lion’s share of possession in the opening quarter but couldn't create any clear-cut chances. The tide changed soon though as Guardian Angel lost their goalkeeper, Rajiv Miryala, to an injury in the 20th minute and substitute goalie Johnson Fernandes had to do duty under the bar for the Curchorem team. Facing an uphill task, the Guardian Angel goalie managed to protect the goal for 18 minutes. The citadel fell in the 38th minute as Aslon tapped in after the ball fell for him kindly after a hushed up clearance hit Salgaocar's Umesh Harijan.

Guardian Angel stitched a few moves to get on the board. In the 41st minute, Austern Fernandes made a perfect cross to Djourou Ouedji who failed to finish the move.

Post resumption the Greens shuffled their line-up by pulling out Myron Borges for Gilbert Oliveira. Meanwhile, Guardian Angel’s Jos Vaz was yellow-carded by referee Sunil Nanodkar for a rash tackle on Harijan. In the 50th minute, Salgaocar made their second substitution by replacing Harijan with James Fernandes. The very next minute, Martin's free-kick rebounded in front of the keeper and Gilbert slammed the ball home.

Soon, Aslon got his second of the evening after Gilbert sent in a perfect cross in the 54th minute. Before the Curchorem lads could regroup, they conceded again as Salgaocar scored again in the 55th minute as Gilbert turned the provider one more time, sending in a cross which was converted by Martin for the fourth goal for his side.
