Saligao Sporting quell Vagator PY challenge

Saligao Sporting Club edged Vagator Parish Youth SC 3-2 in their GFA Second Division (Bardez zone) match played at Duler Stadium, Mapusa on Saturday.

Saligao took the lead in the 25th minute through Craig Menezes who scored off a Mario Crasto cross, beating goalkeeper Soma Korgaonkar in Vagator goal, 1-0. In the 30th minute Saligao went 2-0 ahead through Ajay Diwadkar, while he struck again in the 45th minute to make it 3-0 for his side.

Vagator pulled a goal back in the 52nd minute through Stapleton Fernandes, while three minutes later, Rudresh Tendulkar converted a penalty for Vagator to further reduce the margin 2-3. However, Saligao held on to their one-goal advantage to win 3-2.
