Sanath Nevgi’s (116) superlative ton and some disciplined bowling by Borda bowlers were the highlights of a facile 51-run victory of Borda RCC (Under 12) over Ponda RCC in a practice match played at SAG grounds, Fatorda.
In a 25 overs-an-innings match, the Borda captain won the toss and elected to bat and scored 163 for 4 in 15 overs. Sanath’s century was laced with 19 fours all around the ground that sent the Ponda boys on a literal leather hunt. Shrey Singh (10) was the other batsman to get into double figures. Ayush Nagarsekar (2 for 25), Gaurang Gaonkar and Sahil Chauhan (1 each) were among the wickets.
In reply, only Gaurang (31) could negotiate the disciplined bowling by Borda bowlers with Nimish Shirodkar (15) and Swapnish Satardekar (13) giving him support. Eventually, the Ponda RCC finshed at 112 for 9 in 25 overs. Jayesh Lotlikar, Ankur Kunde and Aaryan Prabhudesai took two wickets each while Sanath Nevgi snapped one.
