Riding on a fine hat-trick from Aarean D'Silva, Sesa Football Academy registered a 5-2 win over Panchwadi United Sports Club in the concluding match of GFA's First Division League at Panchayat grounds, Raia on Saturday. Sesa FA led 5-1 at half time .
Latesh Mandrekar and Glevito Miranda scored for Sesa while Jesmon Soares scored twice for Panchwadi .
Sesa held upper hand in both the sessions surging ahead in the very 3rd minute when Latesh Mandrekar beat the rival goalkeeper with a neat finish off a pass from Cavin Soares. Spurred by the early success, Sesa tormented their rivals with well orchestrated raids.Glevito doubled the lead in the 10th minute when he slotted past the rival goalkeeper with a snap shot off a pass from Aarean. Then it was the turn of striker Aarean again who was the fulcrum in his team's attack as he added his name on the scorers' list off a pass from Kritekesh in the 13th minute. He struck second time in the 29th minute off a pass from Ranuf. Thereafter, Sesa took firm control, and in the 37th minute, Aarean completed his hat-trick in the 37th minute to give his team a 5-0 cushion. Panchwadi regrouped and were rewarded at the stroke of lemon-break through a spot-kick after rival defender Dheeraj Chavan brought down rival attacker Paxton Gomes inside the penalty box and Jesmon Soares converted the spot-kick to send the Sesa goalkeeper Ozen Silva the wrong way.
Crossing over, Sesa continued to enjoy the lion's share of exchanges and carried out well orchestrated raids but their forwards frittered away from ideal position. At the other end, Panchwadi looked better organized midway in the second half and tried to string a few passes, but their inability to take control denied them chances.
Sesa goalkeeper Ozen had a field day as he was hardly tested by the rival strikers. Panchwadi reduced the deficit in the 51st minute when Dheeraj Chavan tripped behind rival striker Wayne Rodrigues inside the penalty box and the referee awarded the spot-kick. Jesmon converted from the spot with ease.
With this win, Sesa FA concluded their engagements with 23 points from 14 matches while Panchwadi United Sports Club were relegated to second division and stayed at 5 points from same number of encounters.
