Two brilliant saves in the penalty shoot-out by goalkeeper Soma Korgaokar enabled Anjuna Gymkhana to register a 4-2 tie-breaker win over Xetrapal Sports Club in the inaugural match of Late Anthony & Santana Carvalho Memorial Cup, organised by St Savio’s SC Calangute, at Calangute grounds, here.
In a thrilling fast-pace encounter, Xetrapal’s Pushparaj Mandrekar saw his two goal-bound strikes pushed to safety by Anjuna goalkeeper Soma Korgaokar with full-stretch diving save.

Soma Korgaokar flung to his left and then to his right to stop Pushparaj and Manthan’s penalty strike to take his team into the quarter-finals.
At the halftime interval, St. Savio’s club officials John Fernandes-President, Romeo Mascarenhas-Vice President and Sainath Haldankar-Secretary introduced the chief guest Shawn Martins-Sarpanch VP Calangute, Sudhesh Mayekar-Dy.
