The 50th State Athletic Meet will be held on Oct 27-28 at Athletic stadium, Bambolim. The meet will be opened at 10 am at the venue at the hands of chief guest Shripad Naik, Minister of State (IC), Ministry of AYUSH; guests of honour VM Prabhudesai, Director, DSYA and ED, SAG, and Arun Bhat, Regional Head & Manager, TJSB Bank, and the President of GAA, Adv Narendra Sawaikar (MP, South Goa).

In the event, over 1200 athletes are expected to participate in categories for boys and girls -- U-8, U-10, U-12, U-14, U-16, U-18, U-20, men and women. 120 athletes would be provided lodging and boarding which will be provided by GAA for athletes hailing from distant talukas like Canacona, Dharbandora, Quepem, Sanguem and Valpoi. el athletic event, thus raising the bar higher. The victorious athletes would be given medals and certificates besides trophies awarded to Best Athlete and Team Championship in each Group. West Zone Team medal winners will also be felicitated. Meritorious, dynamic athletes and promoter of yesteryears will be felicitated. The closing ceremony will be held at 4 pm at the athletic stadium, Bambolim.
