Tanisha, Shourya win India Club UAE Open badminton titles

Goa’s Tanisha Crasto won the India Club UAE Open Ladies singles title for the second year running after beating fellow countrywomen Nida Najeeb 21-10, 21-11. 

In the 41st edition of the championships held in Dubai, Tanisha -- a rising talent who has won three All India Ranking medals last season -- also won the Mixed Doubles title for the third consecutive year as she along with her partner Ketan Chahal defeated Somi Ramdani / Ana Rose Espinosa 21-19, 21-16. Her third finals, in the Under 19 Girls singles category, was an easy win for her. Tanisha hardly broke a sweat on her way to a 21-6, 21-3 straight sets win against Irene Elsa Alexander, making it triple delight for her. 

Shourya Joshi, another young emerging talent from Goa, rose to the occasion to win the under-15 Boys singles title with a straight sets 21-11, 21-17 win over Nabhan Najeeb. Shourya later stepped up to defeat Raza Ali Adil 21-16, 21-10 to claim the boys under-17 final and emerge with 

a double crown.

Brad DQed but vows to fight on in Danish F4

MARGAO  Hong Kong-based Goan driver Brad Dias suffered a blow as he was disqualified in the round 1 at  Danish Formula 4, Padborg Park recently.  Brad completed his first weekend (round 1) with the team run by former Formula One driver Jan Magnussen’s F4 team, Magnussen Racing Experience, alongside 14-year-old Danish Frederik Kikkenborg.
