Goa head coach Shane Temudo expressed deep disappointment following his team’s 2-5 loss to Delhi in the Junior Boys Football Championship for the Dr B.C. Roy Trophy, held at the GNDU Sports Complex in Amritsar, Punjab.
Clearly frustrated after the match, Temudo did not mince words about his team’s performance.
“I’m sad, disappointed, and frankly furious,” said the coach. “We started without any spirit or enthusiasm, and that’s unacceptable. We are Goa ” we’re expected to play with heart and fighting spirit.”
Temudo was particularly critical of his side’s defensive lapses and missed opportunities up front. He pointed out that goalkeeper Nahum D’Souza’s lack of height was a factor, while the forwards failed to convert key chances.
Despite the setback, the coach emphasized the importance of learning from the experience.
“We need to work very hard going forward and find solutions to what went wrong,” he said. “It’s crucial we cut down on our mistakes and perform to our true potential.”
Temudo concluded by stating that the team would take this defeat as a lesson and look to come back stronger in future competitions.
