It is encouraging to see Goan director’s crossing over to Mumbaiand neighbouring Pune and Nashik tostage Konkani tiatr there for the sake of Goans living in Maharashtra. At onepoint in time, Goan directors staging performances in Mumbai and Mumbai baseddirectors coming down to Goa to stage their shows here was a common feature.Directors would have long spells of engagements to stage their shows in Mumbaiand the tiatrs were supposed to be the best form of entertainment for thousandsGoans who had settled in the city there. But some years down the line, when hadtiatr lost its popularity, the age old practice of staging tiatrs in Mumbai wason the decline.
At the moment Rose Ferns is scheduled to perform in Mumbaiwith his latest release ‘Waiter’.
