Perpetual Succour Navelim entered the finals in the girls and boys category defeating St Jude HS and Holy Cross HS respectively in the Sir Jawaharlal Da Costa Memorial Inter School U-16 five-a-side football tournament organised by United Sports Club of Seraulim in collaboration with The Base Goa, played at Seraulim on Friday.
In the girls category, Perpetual Succour scored through Clea and Jovinia to blank St Jude HS 2-0. In the boys category, Perpetual Succour had to fight hard to beat Holy Cross HS 2-1. Perpetual scored through Zion and Macklon while Asher scored for Holy Cross.
In the other semifinals (girls), The Kings School went down fighting against Fatima Convent HS 1-0. The Kings School were unfortunate as they saw their ace striker Valaina’s chances hitting the pole on three different occasions. Fatima’s lone goal came from the boots of Dezma.
In the last semis (boys), Loyola HS beat St Jude Betalbatim 2-1. Ashnoy scored a brace for Loyola’s. Macbeth was the lone scorer for St Jude.
