United SC Seraulim secured a 2-1 victory over Varca SC to book their place in the quarterfinals of the 17th St Anthony Festival Cup 2025, organised by St Anthony FC Assolda at the Moll Ground on Sunday.
United SC dominated the proceedings from the start and broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute when Ashley Fernandes fired home a sharp shot past the Varca goalkeeper. Varca SC showed more urgency in the second half but were unable to break through the resilient Seraulim defence.
Their hopes suffered another blow in the 50th minute when Keith Rodrigues doubled the lead for Seraulim with a composed finish. Trailing 0-2, Varca SC pushed forward and pulled one back in the 55th minute through Aroan Baretto, but it proved to be only a consolation as United SC held firm to see out the win.
Ashley Fernandes was named Man of the Match for his decisive performance.
