GFDC Valpoi teams beat GFDC Shiroda in both games of U-10 and U-13 Inter Centre matches of Vodafone GFDC Rising Star Football Festival at Shiroda on Monday. Both the matches were won by a goal's margin.
In U-10 match, Nakul Gawas of GFDC Valpoi was the hero. He scored 11th goal of the Inter Centre tournament and the match was played at Shiroda. The game started with GFDC Shiroda continuously attacking, but their defense too stood the test.
The only goal of the match by Valpoi’s Nakul Gawas came in the 10th minute of the first
half. In second half, Valpoi and Shiroda both missed some goal scoring chances. Shiroda’s
Aditya Gaonkar and Daniel Cruz played good game for their side. Nakul Gawas adjudged player of the match.
In the second match,in U-13 category, GFDC Valpoi beat GFDC Shiroda again
with a 1-0 margin. The only goal of the match came in the second half. GFDC Valpoi’s Tauqir Khan
was the goalscorer. In the dying minutes of the second half, Shiroda tried to equalise in the match
but failed to score. Tauqir Khan was named the player of the match.
