Association of Goa Wushu recently conducted a wushu training camp for National School Games and 1st Goa State Wushu Sanshou Judges Training Camp 2016 at Peddem Indoor Stadium, Mapusa.
Sanshou is a sparring technique which includes kicks, punches and throws. The residential camp was conducted for the players who will participate in the sport at National School Games to be held in Bhopal. The sanshou training was conducted by Paulo Killman Fernandes while Shintre, Senior Judo coach, also conducted some sessions of throw techniques which could be used by the players in sanshou.
Simultaneously, the 1st Goa State Wushu Sanshou Judges Training Camp 2016 was conducted by Fernandes, who is chief coach and national wushu judge, Association of Goa Wushu. The students were coached and examined in judging by officials from Wushu Association of India. Ashoka Mokashi and Sangamesh R L, national wushu judges from Karnataka Wushu Association.
The following students succeeded in the judging course: Mandesh Volvoikar, Tejas Bagli, Josseb Fernandes, Soham Parsekar, Mehak Sayed, Valerie Britto, Fiona Rodrigues, Anju Lakra, Akshata Mullori, Prakriti Naik.
