International Master Ameya Audi delivered an impressive performance at the Satish Anna All India Open FIDE Rapid Rating Chess Tournament 2025 held in Belgaum, finishing joint first with 8 points out of 9 rounds. Seeded sixth, Ameya secured second place on tie-break among six players who shared the top spot.
His notable victories came against IM Srijit Paul (West Bengal), IM Ravi Teja S (Andhra Pradesh), and WCM Pratitee Bordoloi (Karnataka).
IM Mohammad Nubairshah Shaik (Maharashtra) clinched the championship title, while IM Ravi Teja S (Andhra Pradesh) took third place. IM Srijit Paul (West Bengal), FM Wagh Suyog (Maharashtra), IM Nitish Belurkar (Goa), and Bhosale Shriraj (Maharashtra) finished fourth to seventh respectively.
The tournament witnessed a strong field of 604 participants, including 18 titled players from across India.
