MARGAO
BMC Caramorod came from behind to defeat St Anthony's Deussua 2-1 and move into the quarter-finals of Chinchinim Jumbo and Chik Chik Memorial inter-ward football tournament, organised by Friends Circle Chinchinim, at Church ground, Chinchinim on Friday.
St Anthony's started the game on a positive note and launched a flurry of attacks to keep the rival rearguard on their toes. Ryan broke the deadlock midway in the opening session with a blistering snap shot. Unfazed after conceding the goal, BMC regrouped quickly and Domnick neutralised the lead.
Crossing over, BMC were a dominant lot and troubled the rival defence with well-coordinated raids. However, Deussua goalkeeper Cyril stole the limelight as he made superlative saves. Jermias struck the match-winner for BMC.
