FC Goa celebrated a strong 3-0 victory against Bengaluru FC at the Fatorda Stadium in Goa during the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 season on Saturday. This win marked their first at home this season.
Midfielder Brison Fernandes expressed his joy after scoring one of the goals. He emphasized the team's collective effort, saying, "I'm very much happy... because it's all the team effort which we are putting in." He recognized the importance of the match, noting, "It was very much needed for us to keep going in this competition."
Fernandes also shared his thoughts on scoring, explaining, "There was only one option to cheat the keeper, so I did the same and I got the goal." Looking ahead to their next match in just three days, he mentioned the plan to rest and train.
Teammate Sahil Tavora also spoke about the victory, highlighting the significance of achieving a clean sheet. He noted that the coach had called it the "perfect game" to get their season back on track. "This win is really important for us," he said, praising their complete performance in both defense and attack.
As they prepare to face Punjab FC next, Tavora stressed the importance of carrying this momentum forward. "It would be perfect to play again here in front of our fans and get the three points."
Both players encouraged fans to continue their support, especially for the upcoming match on November 6. Tavora thanked the supporters for pushing the team to perform better in the second half, saying, "We need them again on the 6th." With renewed confidence, FC Goa aims to build on this victory in the coming matches.
