MARGAO: Calangute Veterans secured a comfortable win over Vasco Veterans 2-0 to move in to the quarterfinals of 10th Fatorda veterans football tournament, organised by Fatorda Veterans, at Don Bosco Oratory ground, Fatorda, on Friday.
Both teams played attacking football and in the first quarter Jhon of Vasco gave a pass to Fr Franky Fernandes but his volley missed the target. Seby Vaz of Calagute Veterans scored from the box before the half time.
As match progressed, in the second half, Calangute Veterans increased their tally through Paresh Korgaonkar. Seby Vaz of Calangute Veterans was awarded man of the match by Cony Miranda.
