Chandrawaddo Fatorda beat St Anthony's Agalli 5-4 in tie-breaker to emerge champions of All Goa Cottoca 7-a-side football tournament, organised by Cottoca Boys, at Mandopa Ground, Navelim on Wednesday.
After goalless regulation time, Chandrawaddo won the penalty shootout by converting five spot kicks while St Anthony's scored only four penalties. In the tie-breaker, Andrade, Velton, Cliff, Selwyn and Godfrey found the target for Chandrawaddo, while Martins, Pinto, Joaquim and Arwind converted for St Anthony's.
Chandrawaddo were awarded a cash prize of Rs 22,222 and a trophy, while St Anthony's had to settle for a prize of Rs 17,777.
Individual prizes: First goal of the final - Martins (St Anthony's), Best defender of the final “ Godfrey (Chandrawaddo), Best goalkeeper of the final - Malcom (St Anthony's), Best disciplined team - Tunder Boys Macazana, Best player of the tournament - Ashwin (St Anthony Boys Panchwadi).
Fr Elvis Godinho, assistant parish priest of Rosary Church, Navelim was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of former Indian football team captain Climax Lawrence and Richard Costa of Churchill Brothers FC.
