Curtorim Veterans stormed past Pele Veterans 5‘2 to secure a place in the semifinals of the Assolda Veterans Cup at Kamsai Moll Ground, Assolda, on Tuesday.
The clash between the neighboring villages saw Curtorim take control early on, thanks to a well‘organized combination play. Fr. Milagres Dias dominated the midfield, setting up Domingos, who opened the scoring with a neat finish. Benny Dias doubled the lead for Curtorim, while Franky of Pele Veterans missed a chance, leaving the score at 2‘0 at halftime.
In the second half, Curtorim extended their lead with a goal from Fr. Milagres Dias. Pele Veterans responded through Santan Furtado, making it 3‘1. Anthony Oliver narrowed the gap to 3‘2, injecting hope for Pele. However, Curtorim sealed the contest with two quick strikes from Francisco Mascarenhas and Stanly Rapos, finalizing the score at 5‘2 and booking their semifinal berth.
