Damodar EHS, Gudi got the better St. Anthony's HS, Majorda 2-1 via tie-breaker in the Sub Junior U-16 boys South Goa district hockey championship, organised by South Goa District Hockey Association held at DSYA ground, Seraulim.
During the normal time of play both the team's were levelled at 1-1. St Anthony's, Majorda took the lead in the second quarter through Shaib while Sarov Dessai finished with a clinical touch to level the score in the last quarter of the match.
In the tie-breaker, only Anuh and Sarov were successful in converting their strikes whileShaib was the lone scorer for St Anthony's HS, Majorda.
In the other semi-finals, St Joseph HS, Chandor defeated Our Lady of Lourdes, Utorda 2-0.
Both the teams put up a good performance till the end and none of the players could bang the board.
In the tie-breaker, Alex and John could find the back of the net to give a comfortable lead to make it to the finals.
In the women section, the match were played on round robin league and the two top teams St. Jude HS, Betalbatim and Perpetual HS, Navelim qualified for the finals which will be played on February 28.
