Delite Titans beat Salcete Stallions by 4 wickets and 3.3 overs to spare in the Desserts n More Sarsangan Super Series Cricket at Arlem cricket ground.
Electing to bat first, the Stallions were jolted by a double blow by Pradip Shetye in the very 1st over, dismissing both the openers Durgesh Prabhugaonkar and Atchut Dalal for ducks, leaving the Stallions stranded at 2-2. A 52 run in 39 balls partnership for the 3rd wicket between Saeesh Prabhudesai (33) and Mahendra Audi (24) salvaged the situation.
The Titans came back strongly dismissing both the batters and also picked the dangerous Sandeep Dalal (13) as the Stallions slid to 76-5. A quick innings of 30 by young Samprabh Phaldesai helped the Stallions to reach 136-9 in 20 overs
Pradip Shetye with 2-20 was the tormenter in chief and received admirable support from Arsh Sardesai, Samrudh Hegde Desai, Shridhar Keni and Pranav Kamat who picked a wicket each.
In reply, Delite Titans got off to a flying start through Anish Mahambrey (49 balls)and their skipper Deval Karmali (34, 23 balls) who put on 74 in 7.4 overs for the opening wicket. Arsh Sardesai (21, 13 balls) got the Titans to 107 in 11 overs, leaving Titans to get 30 runs in 9 overs.
However, Titans lost 4 wickets in the space of 30 balls only to be salvaged by Avinash Kossambe (20 not out) as they reached the target, making 139-6 in 16.3 overs. Samprabh Phaldesai 3-15 and Sudesh Prabhudesai 2-22 were the successful bowlers.
Anish Prabhu Mahambrey was awarded the Man of the Match medal.
Elsewhere, Estilo Legends lose a point and qualification hopes to Madgaon Royals as match ended in a tie.
