The All India Football Federation (AIFF) confirmed on Thursday that Dempo FC will replace Real Kashmir FC in the upcoming Super Cup 2025-26 after the Kashmir-based club withdrew due to visa issues faced by their foreign players.
In an official statement posted on their social media, AIFF announced: "Real Kashmir FC have withdrawn from AIFF Super Cup 2025-26, as VISAS for their foreign players could not be secured. They will be replaced by Dempo SC."
This unexpected development offers Goa’s Dempo FC a golden opportunity to step back into the national football limelight. Once a dominant force in Indian football, Dempo will now compete in Group A alongside top-tier Indian Super League clubs like Mohun Bagan Super Giant, Chennaiyin FC, and East Bengal FC.
Dempo’s participation in the prestigious tournament marks their return to one of the country’s biggest football stages after a significant hiatus. The Super Cup kicks off on October 25, with Dempo facing East Bengal FC in the opening match at the GMC Stadium in Bambolim.
The tournament will feature 24 group-stage matches, culminating with the last group game on November 6, where Mumbai City FC will face Kerala Blasters FC at Fatorda’s PJN Stadium. The dates for the knockout rounds are yet to be announced.
