Former champions Dempo Sports Club will have to be at their best when they meet Sudeva Delhi FC in their I League 2 clash, on Wednesday, at Dr Ambedkar Stadium, Delhi.
Dempo are like a well oiled machine with the right blend of youth and experience and would like to consolidate their position. “It’s a very challenging tournament but we are not short on confidence,” Dempo coach Samir Naik told The Goan Everyday. “We have a talented bunch of players who can beat any team on their day,” added Naik .
However, Sudeva FC are no pushovers either having seven points from as many outings as the Golden Eagles.
"We are preparing for the match strongly and we have a final training session ahead of us. Our focus now is on our strengths and all players are fully prepared," Naik added.
Mohammed Ali will return from his suspension while the versatile attacker Necio Fernandes will have to handle most of the pressure up front who will look to be aided by Shubham Rawat.
The Dempo coach is hoping for a better performance from his side.“We are currently focusing on facing Delhi. We committed some mistakes against Al Ahli an therefore we are working on them during the preparations so that they would not be repeated again,” said Naik
“We are expecting a positive match against Dempo which will present a positive result. This situation usually motivates these teams to present a competitive level with the rest of the teams,”said Chencho Dorji head coach Sudeva Delhi FC.
"We are facing a reputed and well-combined team, and we are aware of that. We are prepared for it," Dorji concluded.
