Likson Rebello's hat-trick and Lathangliana Abawiha's brace lit up FC Goa's impressive 6-0 victory against Young Boys of Tonca Sports Club in the GFA Professional League, at Tilak Maidan, Vasco, on Tuesday.
From the outset, FC Goa asserted their authority, with U-21 striker Likson Rebello leading the charge. The first half witnessed a relentless offense, with Lathanglina Abawiha scoring the opening goal in the 20th minute to set the tone for the game.
Likson Rebello capitalised on a through pass to secure the second goal within in the 19th minute to make it 2-0 up within first 20 minutes. After taking 2-0 cushion lead, FC Goa continued the onslaught and in the 33rd minute Lickson Rebello scored his brace.
Likson Rebello completed a well-deserved hat-trick with a low and powerful shot from outside the box sealing a remarkable finish in the 33rd minute. In the 44th minute, Likson Rebello slotted past the rival defender with snap shot.
The second half unfolded with FCGoa attempting to threaten again managed to capitalise through pass on scoring his team’s fifth goal in the 55th minute. Saish Gauncar fired the last nail into rival coffin in injury time.
