FM Nitish Belurkar, who was crowned champion in Category E at Manohar Parrikar International Open Grandmaster Online Chess Tournament 2020, was on Wednesday presented the gold medal at the hands of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.
Power Minister Nilesh Cabral, who is the president of Goa Chess Association, was also present on the occasion. FM Nitish was also crowned champion at Goa Chess League. Vivaan Ballikar, the third-place winner in Goa Chess League, was also given a trophy at the hands of the CM, while Ritviz Parab, the second-place winner in the league, did not attend the awards function.
