MARGAO
The United Club of Utorda, in association with the Goa Football Development Council, successfully wrapped up its two-week summer football camp at the SAG Ground in Utorda, drawing participation from around 140 trainees, including a notable number of girls. The camp featured structured training sessions conducted under floodlights, offering young players a professional and engaging environment to develop their skills.
The closing ceremony, held at the venue, was attended by several dignitaries. Member Secretary Fransquinha Oliviera was the chief guest, while Fr. Arvino Fernandes, Parish Priest of Utorda, attended as guest of honour. Sarpanch of Utorda“Majorda Panchayat, Celina Estebeiro, was present as the special invitee.
Addressing the gathering, Oliviero praised the club’s efforts in promoting grassroots football and nurturing emerging talent. Estebeiro lauded the organisers for their dedication and commitment, while Fr. Fernandes highlighted the role of sports in the overall development of children and encouraged continued parental support for such initiatives.
Club President Trindade Fernandes welcomed the attendees, and Secretary Ulorica Silviera delivered the vote of thanks. The programme was compered by Anthony Pereira.
The camp was conducted by a team of committed coaches”Linet Vaz, Jennifer Fernandes, Marcus Carvalho, Damaceno Pereira, Jose Gomes, Cedric Coelho, Godfrey Fidelis, and Anthony Pereira”who ensured focused training and individual attention for all participants.
Event coordination was managed by Sports Secretaries Pascoal Vaz and Tony Vincent Fernandes. They were supported by an active organising committee comprising Jhonny Gomes, Shalini Antao, Inacinho Pereira, Carmelina Pereira, Emy Pereira, Shawn Pereira, Liberata Fernandes, Tony LC Fernandes, Albino Da Costa, Remy Pereira, Ana Pacheco, Francis Cardozo, Marcelina Vaz, Cleopas Fernandes, Juliet Fernandes, Azavedo Gomendes, Bruno Azaredo, Seby Fernandes, and Juliet Martins.
