Goa’s boys and girls teams delivered strong performances on Day 2 of the 30th Sub-Junior National Tennis Ball Cricket Championship being held in Dausa, Rajasthan.
In the first match against Jammu & Kashmir, J&K batted first and were restricted to 34/7 in 6 overs. Rohit Lamani was the star with the ball, taking 3/11. Pundalik Bhamaikar (2/13), Usman Karol (1/3), and Sarmit Beg (1/8) also impressed. Goa chased down the target easily, reaching 36/1 in just 3 overs. Paras Gaonkar scored 13, Usman Karol remained unbeaten on 12, Joshua Godlikar added 5*. Goa won by 7 wickets.
The second match against Assam, Goa batted first and put up 52/6 in 6 overs.
Paras Gaonkar top-scored with 29, Tanay Gawas chipped in with 11.
In reply, Assam managed just 21/5. Joshua Godlikar took 2/9, Gawas (1/3), Karol (1/4), and Beg (1/0) each picked a wicket. Goa won by 32 runs.
In the match played between the Goa girls and Jammu & Kashmir, the latter posted 25/3 in 6 overs. Goa bowlers were economical: Sandhya Rai, Ayushi Shrivastav, and Tanisha Velip all took one wicket each. Goa chased it down in 2.5 overs, finishing at 26/2. Rakhi Giri (8*), Purva Gawde (7*), and Sonali Velingkar (6) led the charge to help Goa win by 6 wickets.
