Goa is set to host some of the finest judo talent from across the country as the Goa Judo Association, in collaboration with the Judo Federation of India, organizes the National Black Belt Camp and NDIC Examination (West Zone) from October 11 to 17, at the state-of-the-art Peddem Sports Complex in Mapusa
This prestigious national-level event will see the participation of over 100 judokas representing Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Goa. For the Goan judo fraternity, the camp presents a valuable opportunity to train under some of the country’s most accomplished National Coaches from SAI NIS, COE, JSW Academy, and other leading institutions.
Patron of the Association Guruddatta D. Bhakta highlighted the importance of the event, stating, “This camp will not only enhance the technical skills of our athletes but also serve as a strong source of motivation for the next generation of judokas in Goa.”
Expressing pride in Goa being chosen as host, President Girish G. Pednekar said the event underscores the state’s growing prominence in the national judo circuit. Secretary Kripesh Vengurlekar described it as a “milestone initiative made possible through collaboration and community support.”
