Goa Velha Veterans beat Davondem Veterans 5-5 via the tie-breaker and sailed into the quarterfinals of the Chinchinim Veterans football in tournament played at Church ground, Chinchinim on Wednesday. Both the teams displayed attacking brand of football, however they could not score due to tardy marksmanship. Abrao played well for Goa Velha Veterans but missed scoring in the 36th minute while Bobby of Davondem Veterans shot was well saved by Goa Velha Veterans’ keeper Aggie Menezes.
In the tie breaker, Prakash, Vishwas, Aggie, Benny and Benjamin scored for Goa-Velha Veterans. Caitan, Sanjay, Bobby scored for Danvondem Veterans while Robert shot wide. Aggie Menezes of Goa Velha Veterans was awarded the man of the match.
