Goan trio win bronze at martial arts worlds

Goan trio of Erica J De Sequeira, Karan Pandit and Rohit Anigol won a bronze at the Online World Martial Arts Masterships-2021 held virtually in South Korea. They are the first-ever team from India to participate and win a medal in the event organised by World Tong-IL Moo-Do Federation, an organisation based in South Korea. 

“Our team became the first-ever winners and bronze medallists from India among 100 countries participating in the World Martial Arts Masterships,” informed Raunak Singh, coach and general secretary of Tongo-Il Moo-Do Association of Goa which is affiliated to World Tong-IL Moo-Do Federation, India.

Singh participated as an official and judge at the event which saw a participation of 3,300 participants. 

The Goan trio of Sequeira, Pandit and Anigol trained at Don Bosco Oratory, Panaji under the club MMA Insanity Goa. They participated in individual, sparring, demonstration and team Bon/Form categories. “They qualified in all categories and won the bronze in team Bon,” Singh said.

PANAJITaleigao Yuvathon 2.0, a running event, was conducted at Taleigao by Fit Swaggers Goa and supported by Hanuman Sports & Cultural Club, Taleigao. Around 180 runners in 10kms, 165 runners in 5kms and 95 runners in 3 kms participated in the event.
