Gopalkrishna Borim defeated S Avengers Kundaim 6-5 to emerge as men's champions of the All-Goa baseball tournament, organised by INSIGHT - The Society for Sports Culture Youth Affairs and Charity, at Marcaim Panchayat ground.
S Avengers elected to field first after winning the toss. The three-inning final went till the last inning, wherein Gopalkrishna Borim kept their nerves calm to claim the title.
For S Avengers, Bhaskar Jalmi scored two homes while Sonik Kundaikar, Pravin Naik and Prathamesh Narse scored one home each. For Gopalkrishna Borim, Ajay Gaude, Mahadev Gaonkar, Shubham Gaude, Gajesh Gaude scored one home each while Naresh Gaude scored two homes. The pitching from Sunny Gaude of Gopalkrishna and Pravin Naik of S Avengers was the highlight of the match.
Anant Naik was the chief guest and handed over the prizes in the presence of Shubham Fadte and Sameer Naik. Venfreda Rodrigues compered and welcomed, while Pranav Prabhudesai proposed the vote of thanks.
