Government College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Khandola won by 21 runs against St Xavier's College in the Goa University inter-collegiate cricket championship for women, at Goa University cricket ground, Taleigao.
The toss was won by St Xavier’s College, Mapusa and elected to bowl first. Government College Khandola posted 89/3 in 10 overs. Shikha Chodankar 31(36) and Simran Naik 18(20) contributed to the score. Gauri Shetgaonkar (1/12) was the stand out bowler for St Xavier's College.
In reply, St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa could amass only 68/7 in 10 overs.
Mrunmayee Bhike 13(11) was the top scorer of the innings while Siya Naik (4/11) was the star with the ball for Khandola College.
In the second match, Goa Engineering College, Farmagudi won by 5 runs against PG Goa University.
The toss was won by Goa Engineering College who elected to bat. Goa Engineering College, Farmagudi put up 92/0 in 10 overs thanks to some clinical batting by Riya Naik 42(38) and Vaishnavi Phadke 15(23).
In the second innings, PG Goa University were able to only score 88/2 in 10 overs. Diksha Amonkar 31(31), Preeti Kunkolkar 14(19) were the main batters for the side. Riya Naik (1/14) and Vaishnavi Phadke (1/15) were economical with their bowling figures for Farmagudi.
