Joe Cookies Veterans of Loutolim defeated Vasco Veterans by a solitary goal to enter the finals of the Heston Vaz Memorial Veterans football tournament played at Varca ground.
Uday Naik missed a scoring chance in the first session. The all-important goal was scored by Jaison Cardozo. Joe Cookies Veterans will meet Chinchinim Veterans in the final slated for November 20.
Goan rifle shooting team for national c'ship
Seven rifle shooters have been selected to represent Goa at the upcoming 65th National Shooting Sports Championship to be held at Trivandrum, Kerala from November 20 to December 9.
The team consists of Yash Padloskar (10mtr, 50mtr), Nelson Dube (50mtr), Dylan Dube (10mtr), Yash Asolkar (10mtr), Aditya Sawant (10mtr), Akanksha Shinde (10mtr, 50mtr) and Eldrida Fernandes (10mtr). They will be accompanied by their coach and mentor Bhageshri Padloskar.
GFA Third Division League from Dec
The GFA Third Division League will start from the first week of December. The managers' meeting for the Salcete Zone clubs participating in the tournament will be held on November 22, at GFA office, Fatorda Stadium, Margao starting at 4.30 pm. Also, the managers' meeting for the Bardez clubs will be held on November 24 at 4.30 pm at Duler Stadium, Mapusa.
The managers' meeting for the Ilhas clubs will be held on November 25 at 5 pm at GFA Secretariat, Panaji. Clubs participating in the tournament have been asked to depute their representative to attend the meeting. They have also been told to submit their documents at the earliest so that the cards can be prepared. The clubs who have not paid the tournament fees need to do so at the earliest.
